Tammy Roberts brings over 30 years of experience in the field of mental health, with a dedicated focus on supporting women, children, and individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges. She began her professional career working with young children at Villa Maria, a residential treatment program under Associated Catholic Charities. Her passion for helping others led her to transition into the field of substance abuse treatment, where she served as an Addictions Counselor at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s Southeast Baltimore Drug Treatment Program.
Ms. Roberts continued her impactful work at the Center for Addiction and Pregnancy, also located at Johns Hopkins Bayview, where she held leadership roles including Program Supervisor and Director of Mental Health Services. In these roles, she provided specialized care to pregnant women struggling with substance use disorders.
In 2007, Ms. Roberts joined Chrysalis House Healthy Start as the Service Coordinator. Her dedication and leadership were recognized in 2023 when she was promoted to Program Director. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the program, which provides vital services to pregnant women and mothers of young children with histories of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
A native of Virginia, Ms. Roberts holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mental Health from Morgan State University and a Master of Education degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Coppin State College.
