Marie Pessagno comes to Chrysalis House Inc. as a dedicated social worker with experience empowering individuals to navigate life’s complexities. Marie earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Baltimore, School of Social Work, building upon her strong foundational knowledge gained from a joint Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Gender and Women’s Studies at UMBC.
Early in her career, Marie developed a strong foundation working with clients facing dual diagnoses, gaining valuable experience in addressing intricate mental health and substance use challenges. This experience paved the way for her impactful work with the Department of Social Services, where she specialized in providing trauma-informed care. Her expertise further extended to forensic interviewing and the skillful application of motivational interviewing techniques, enabling her to effectively support individuals through sensitive and challenging circumstances. Marie’s comprehensive understanding and compassionate approach make her a trusted advocate and a valuable resource for those she serves.
She resides in Anne Arundel county with her two daughters and her two dogs.
